We had a great time with a fun bunch of folks! We raised more money for CCI at our auction and made new friends with our CCI rep Amy Campos, her hubby Lee and her dog Nellie. Amy gave us a her personal insight on how CCI dogs are trained, raised and work, as she's had Nellie for a few years and works with CCI in the Chicago area. Nellie gave us a demonstration on how she helps Amy in her day and showed us first hand what a fantastic organization CCI is and why the swap's auction proceeds are important.

It takes $10,000 to raise and train one CCI dog. The waiting list is about 3 years for a person to get a CCI dog. That's a lot of money, but a long time to wait for a furry friend to help.

I've already been to the hotel and taken a tour of the facility, it is very nice. It is physically the closest hotel to the airport. I believe there is a shuttle, but will check and confirm. Our hotel coordinator is anxious to have our group and area attractions have already been mailing me info on tours and packages. Of course we'll be visiting Graceland and other area sites. If there is enough interest we may set something up as a group, but for now you're on your own.

Swap registration forms are not yet ready; I have to get the meal price settled and then I will update the forms and post them here for you to print out, fill out and send in. Please do not use last years forms if you have them saved.

We will be opening the 2005 swap to the public in the afternoon with ads and promotion of our "Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang only Toys, Collectables and more". Memphis is a much larger area and with the addition of some advertising we hope to bring in more sales for those who get a table at the swap. Do you know of toy/collectors publication that has an event listing we can get into? Email me please and let me know.

We will also be bringing back the scavenger hunt to next year's swap, and the theme for the Dress Your Plush is "Snoopy Has Left the Building: A Tribute to Elvis" (Jean A. came up with this super theme!)--anything you can create with Snoopy or any of the gang dressed as Elvis.
